Steve, Koji & Mike in Maine

ABOUT ARTIST AND CHEF MIKE FENNELLY

I have painted for as long as I can remember. My mother was a watercolorist, and both of my parents strongly encouraged me to focus on my interest in art. From an early age, around 8, I became obsessed with anything and everything Japanese.
My interest in all things Japanese continues to influence all of my work, both in art and food. I had formal training at SVA in Manhattan, Southampton College in Southampton, NY, and finished at Parsons School of Design, also in Manhattan. I've lived and cooked professionally in many places, all of which have influenced my art and food: New York, West Marin, CA, Santa Fe, NM, New Orleans, LA, Sausalito, CA, Hawaii, Provincetown, MA, York, ME, and Gulfport, FL.

ABOUT KOJI - Koji is our rescue puppy from Texas and our chief taster and best friend. Koji is a character in a Japanese film and a Japanese condiment and marinade derived from sake. We use all the time; it makes everything taste better, just like cooking with my buddy Koji!
